YWHAG/A0362

YWHAG (3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein, gamma polypeptide, also known as A0362) is a signaling protein of the 14-3-3 family.

YWHAG (3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein, gamma polypeptide, also known as A0362) is a signaling protein of the 14-3-3 family. It is known to have important functions in mitosis and cell proliferation. YWHAG expression is up-regulated following cytokine stimulation in muscle tissue. It is phosphorylated by platelet-derived growth factor and many isoforms of protein kinase C (PKC). YWHAG interacts with many partners through recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif, including PKC, slingshot homolog 1 (SSH1), and the serine/threonine kinase, RAF1. YWHAG is ubiquitously expressed in the mammalian brain.
