ALDOC (aldolase 3, C isoform, also known as A0428) is an isoform of the aldolase glycolysis enzyme with enriched expression in the brain.
ALDOC (aldolase 3, C isoform, also known as A0428) is an isoform of the aldolase glycolysis enzyme with enriched expression in the brain. Its role is to catalyse Reaction 4 of the glycolysis pathway. The protein exists as a homotetramer. In mouse brains infected with transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, scrapie and bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), expression levels of ALDOC mRNA were found to be increased.
